What is Hydro Excavation

Quite simply, it’s the process of using water and vacuum to break up the soil to locate underground utilities.  My Dad and I have been doing this for over 25 years and we still are learning everyday how to do it better.

Using water to break up the ground gives you an advantage over traditional methods like air and raw labor power using a shovel. Water (Hydro) with high pressure and a narrow beam nozzle can help cut the toughest mud and hard pan in seconds. There are many different nozzles to use but our favorite is the turbo nozzle.

With water you need to make sure you have the right pressure and water flow also. You can range from 100 to 3500 psi with 5-20 gallons per min.
